Ölberg Ehrenstetten

The “Alte Ölberg" was spared from the radical soil reconditioning and vineyard reapportionment of the 1960s, known as the Flurbereinigung. Its stone walls, stone stairs, and deadwood-filled forests serve as an excellent habitat for small animals and rare plants. In 1996, it became the first vineyard in Baden to be designated an official nature reserve. The grapes grow on limestone soils covered with a layer of clay and loess.
