Roter Bur Glottertal

The name “Roter Bur” refers to the now defunct Rotburenhof, which at one time held several of the finest parcels of the Eichberg. The steep aspect (up to 50%) necessitates extensive manual labor. At elevations up to 500m, the vineyard is among the highest in all of Germany. Its small terraces benefit from the central location and are protected from the gusts of the Rhine valley. The vines here grow in the weathered gneiss soils.
