Basking in the sun between the Black Forest and Rhine lies the fertile Markgraeflerland region, an area steeped in history and culture, with a winemaking tradition going back thousands of years. Thanks to its unique climate, this region is also known as the “Tuscany of Germany”.
This is where we make our outstanding “Burgundy” wines and the fruity specialty of the region: “Gutedel”.
Our vineyards, some of them containing truly ancient vines, are located in the tradition-rich and idyllic wine towns of Laufen, Auggen and Schlatt.
Wine growing was first mentioned in Schlatt in the year 1298. This town has been the home of the family for many generations, and the passion for wine growing is a tradition that appears to have passed from generation to generation down the family tree. |
